Russian Grenades of WW2

There were a few actual Russian grenades some more popular than others but the soldiers also liked to steal german grenades but make sure to check before buying. The main grenades for the Russians are as follows:

F1 Fragmentation grenade
Colours and casting varied on these grenades due to poor workmanship as you can see in the picture. You would be issued 3 of these to go in your 3 pocketed pouch. These were used throughout WW2

RGD-33
This grenade could be used as a defensive/offensive weapon depending on wether you put the fragmentation case on or took it off. This grenade was made from sheet metal and was a browny greenish colour. You would be issued 2 of these for your 2 pocketed pouch. These were issued in 1933 and used throughout the war.

RG-42
This was introduced in mid WW2 and was a fragmentation grenade as an emergency measure and would be issued in pairs for your 2 pocketed pouch. The colour was also a green

RG-42 pouch

F1 pouch

RGD-33 pouch

All grenades bought for reenacting need to be rubber or wood but double check before buying if wood you could made your own the easiets and best to make is probably the RGD-33 grenade

Guns of the Red Army in WW2

There were many guns that the red army used so that means there are many you can use depending on your budget and what ammo puches you buy.
The following guns are the more common guns seen on the battlefield:

Mosin Nagant 1891/30
This bolt action rifle was the armys standard issue gun and is seen, in this picture, with bayonet sling and ammo pouch

PPSh-41
This submachine gun was one of the best and cheapest made in the world and highly prfered by Russian an German soldiers and is seen, in this picture, with drum mag, pouch, sling and cleanining oil. Later in the war they used a stick mag as the drum mag jammed and you could carry more

SVT-40
this self loading rifle was popular in the early stages of the war but became to be known as a bit of a liability. It is seen here with pouch, sling cleaning oil and various stripper clips

DP-28
This one of russias only light machine gun and would be perfect for any machine gunner. Th 'record player' or as i like to call it 'dinner plate 28' could fire and hold alot of rounds and the metal/canvas pouch could hold about 3 mags depending how many you want to carry. Seen here with 3 mags, pouch and sling

Most groups accept deact or non-deact but every group is different and ask before you buy and some groups even accept airsoft

Welcome to the Russian WW2 Reenacting Blog (R.W.R.B)

Zdrastvooytye comrades welcome to the R.W.R.B this is a blog made for mainly Russian ww2 reenactors but everybody is welcome especially if you are interested in joining a group. If you are interested then i just want to say some things: reenacting is not about getting a gun and killing people as i have heard as a reason for wanting to join. Reenacting is about displaying and respecting how the russians, in our case, fought in WW2, in our case, and presenting a living history event which basically means you are living and representing history so it is very serious you need a proper reason not "oh i fought as that guy on call of duty and want to reenact them because it inspired me' remember not all games and films are truthful and may not fully represent the people fighting.

Now we have the important stuff out the way I am going to talk about uniform and equipment. If you want to reenact as a Russian in ww2 you will need what a russian had in WW2 so firstly a

and the Sharovari Breeches
